The official theme for the 2025 Climate Week NYC is: Power On. Too often tech and nature are pitted against each other. Nature restoration and emissions reductions need to go hand and hand. To truly “Power On,” we must harness the power of forests.
During Climate Week, 1t.org US is convening to ensure forests have their space in the climate conversation.
Forest Party (plus an announcement)
Monday, Sept 22, 8:00 - 10:00PM
Raise a glass for forests! We’re bringing together nearly 100 corporate leaders, executives, and senior decision-makers for a late night reception dedicated to forests. Expect drinks, lite bites, and the kind of connections that only happen when the right people are in the room.
Plus, we’ll be sharing something new. Join us for our launch party and be part of the growing circle of leaders ensuring forests remain part of the climate conversation.
Forest Restoration Leadership Forum
Tuesday, Sept 23
This is the place to be if you care about forests as a climate solution. Now in its third year, the Forest Restoration Leadership Forum builds on the momentum of the 9th American Forest Congress, the midpoint of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, and a track record of convenings across the country.
With forests under mounting pressure from wildfires, invasive pests, fragmentation, and biodiversity loss, the need for innovation, strong partnerships, and scalable finance has never been greater. Together, we’ll identify system gaps, share best practices, and chart the financial and political pathways needed to accelerate U.S. forest restoration.
The Forum is structured in three focused tracks:
Forests + Innovation & Partnerships (9:00 - 10:45 AM)
Forests + Leadership (11:00 - 12:45 PM)
Forests + Policy & Finance (1:00 - 3:00 PM)
Interested in participating?
At Climate Week NYC, our Forest Restoration Leadership Forum has reached capacity two years in a row, prompting us to expand in 2025 to a full-day program to meet growing demand. This year, to accommodate as many voices as possible, we will be limiting attendance to one representative per an organization. Please complete the form to request an invite. Space is very limited.Note: The Forum is structured in three focused tracks. To accommodate more participants, we will admit attendees to tracks most relevant to their expertise and interests. Please request attendance for each track individually. If interested in all three, please select all three. If you are interested in co-hosting or sponsoring an event, please email [email protected].

Concurrent Roundtables:
Finance & Investment Pathways for Utilities and Forests
Guiding Question: What mechanisms are mobilizing durable capital for forests?
This conversation will dive into carbon credit integrity, transparency in measurement and reporting, and the overall health of carbon markets. We’ll also look beyond carbon toward emerging revenue streams, such as biodiversity credits, water quality credits, and payments for ecosystem services, that can broaden the value proposition for investors and communities.
The Cost and Value of Forests
Guiding Question: How do we account for forests as multi-benefit systems?
This session reframes forest finance beyond “$1 per tree,” unpacking the gaps in the full cost of reforestation, from seed and nursery supply to labor to long-term stewardship. Leaders will also discuss how to integrate ecosystem services accounting (water, biodiversity, climate resilience, community well-being) into the value equation, ensuring finance reflects the full contribution of forests to people and planet.
Market Integrity & Measurement
Guiding Question: How can we ensure markets deliver real, measurable outcomes?
This conversation will dive into carbon credit integrity, transparency in measurement and reporting, and the overall health of carbon markets. We’ll also look beyond carbon toward emerging revenue streams, such as biodiversity credits, water quality credits, and payments for ecosystem services, that can broaden the value proposition for investors and communities.
